We encourage Park visitors to share their observations on the iNaturalist website, http://inaturalist.org/. By recording and sharing your observations, you’ll be contributing data for scientists working to better understand biodiversity and protect nature.
There is a Sunfish Lake Park Project page at https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/sunfish-lake-park where observations made in the geographical area defined for the Park are posted. Observations can be in the form of digital photographs, audio files, or video. You may, if you wish, provide an identification of your observed species. Observations are reviewed by experts on the website, and once there is agreement, the identification is considered acceptable.
It is easy and free to sign up to contribute observations, visit https://www.inaturalist.org/signup and enter your email, create a username and password, confirm your password, then answer a few questions and you are ready to contribute to our knowledge of nature. We already have over 2000 observations made in the Park, and you can scroll through them on the iNaturalist website.
